Shanghai Ranked 5th On List Of Billionaire Capitals
Shanghai snagged the number 5 spot on the list of cities with the most billionaires, according to the latest Hurun Global Rich List. The 'Hai boasted a whopping 50 billionaires, making it one of five Chinese cities to make it into the top ten this year.

Beijing eclipsed former billionaire capital New York (95) to top the list with a staggering 100 billionaires. China now has the most billionaires in the world with 568 compared to the US' 535, and the number of Chinese billionaires has grown 80% since 2013.
Says Hurun Report chairman Rupert Hoogewerf, "Despite its own slowdown and falling stock markets, China minted more new billionaires than any other country in the world last year, mainly on the back of new [share] listings."
According to Hoogewerf, the number of Chinese billionaires is likely even higher than estimated due to the country's mega-rich concealing their fortunes from China's anti-graft watchdogs.
Officially leading the pack is real estate magnate Wang Jianlin, who boasts a net worth of $26 billion.
